Michael J. Rekowski, 83, of Mt. Prospect passed away peacefully Monday at his home surrounded by his family. Michael was the beloved husband of Agatha Rekowski, nee Neises. Loving father of Michael Rekowski, Marie (Sam) Lanza, Tom Rekowski, and Karen (Chris) Blair. Cherished Grandfather of Beck Michael Blair. Dearest Step-father of 5. Proud step-grandfather of 10 and step-great grandfather of 3. Loving Uncle of many.
He was preceded in death by wife Janet Rekowski, nee Lesniak, his sister Patricia (the late Chuck) Sampey, and his son-in-law Greg Kerr.
Michael was a past Grand Knight of the Mt. Prospect Council of Knights of Columbus.
He was a member of St. Raymond de Penefort Church in Mt. Prospect for over 40 years. He was an avid golfer and fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears. He will missed greatly by many.
Visitation will be held Friday from 3-8 PM at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. (at Northwest Highway). Lying in State Saturday at 9 AM until Mass 10 AM at St. Raymond de Penefort Church, Rt. 83 at Lincoln Ave., Mt. Prospect. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
